Study Tours

We plan great trips!
Most students begin attending trips in 10th grade. Not all students attend every trip, but we encourage every student to attend at least one trip while they are in high school. Financial aid is available for all trips.

This year, due to Covid-19, we are planning local and domestic trips to places such as Flushing, Queens; Ellis Island; and the West coast!

Here is the Study Tour Schedule for a Typical Year:

Oman and Qatar: An Arabic Language Immersion Experience
In December, students studying Arabic will travel to Oman and Qatar in the Persian Gulf!
We will tour Muscat, Oman and the surrounding area, then travel to Doha, Qatar.  Our students will stay with host families at Middle-East International School in Doha.

China: A Chinese Language Immersion Experience
We will tour Shanghai, then travel to Zibo in the Shangdong Province of China. Our students will stay with host families at Zibo #1 HS.

Japan: Japanese Language Immersion Experiences
In November, our 10th and 11th graders will travel to Japan!
We will visit Tokyo and historical Japanese cities.  Our students will stay with host families at our long-time sister school, Kojo High School.

In February, our 12th graders will travel to Hiroshima!
We will visit the Peace Museum and stay with host families at Nagisa HS.

Cambodia: A Cultural/Historical Immersion Experience
In November, a group of 11 students will travel to Cambodia to learn about daily life, compare urban and rural life, and learn about the dark history of the Khmer Rouge regime. We will also see Angor Wat.

Guatemala: A Cultural Immersion and Service Experience
In April, students will travel to Guatemala where they will learn about daily life, deliver goods that they have collected over the course of the year, and volunteer at an orphanage or school.
